1. The Merge
The Merge, a digital artwork was sold for $91.9 million on the 6th December 2022 through Nifty Gateway, an NFT decentralized marketplace. The Merge was one single artwork composed of a collection of masses that users could buy and therefore was actually sold in 312,686 pieces to 28,983 buyers. Furthermore, these could now be sold on to the secondary market after stockpiling to make a bigger mass. This is the highest selling NFT to date, with the total sale costing the buyer a hefty $91.8 million.

2. Beeple, Human One
This is a dynamic, life-generative sculpture created by Beeple. In this sculpture, the astronaut walking through different environments can change depending on the artist. The Human One will be updated during his lifetime so the art will never remain fixed, this was a promise made by Beeple. This was sold for $29.98m

3. CryptoPunk #7523
This is part of an NFT collection that consists of distinctive created characters based on the Ethereum blockchain. The CryptoPunk # 7523 is also named “Covid Alien” and sold for $11.5 million on June 2021 in London’s auction house Sotheby. This one NFT that belonged to a series of rare aliens, called “Allien Punks” is now the most expensive CryptoPunk sold to date.

4. Xcopy: Right-Click and Save As Guy
This super rare NFT image is known as Right-Click and Save As Guy sold for 1,600 ETH on December 10th to Comozo de Medici, this is worth 7.09 million. The buyer was actually a well-known, world-class celebrity known as the hip-hop legend, Snoop Dogg and has had 6 unique owners.

5. Beeple, Crossroad
An animated NFT called Crossroad was created by Mike Winkelmann who is known for his artistic pseudonym Beeple. It shows Donald Trump, the former US president laying on the floor while bystanders ignore him.
This was sold on Nifty Gateway for $6.6million in February however the sale execution was made on the secondary market.
